Vale Mick Burns

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mick Burns. Although he had no ‘official role’ in Xcel, he mentored Zac, Xcel’s Managing Director & his son to the success of what Xcel is today.

Mick was much loved by all and will be sorely missed.

We just wanted to take some time thank our valued clients for their support.

Meals from the Heart

Earlier this year, Xcel did some work on the roof at the Ronald McDonald house in Westmead.

This is where we truly understood what this amazing place it is! The Ronald McDonald house is a ‘home’ for families with seriously ill children.

They run a program there called ‘Meals from the Heart’ where they invite groups or companies to come into their ‘home’ and cook their dinner for them.

Xcel, along with Effektiv Intergrated Landscape and Civil services, helped out earlier this month. They were in the kitchen for the night cooking and cleaning up for these families after a long day with doctors, nurses and clinics.

Zac, Xcel’s Managing Director said “It was so nice to be able to do something small for families that show so much appreciation. You realise how a small gesture from us can make a big impact in someone else’s life”, followed by Mick Burns – Effektiv’s Director saying “It’s easy to take the simple act of cooking at home for granted.  Meals from the Heart provides a much-needed service to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House”

We would most definitely recommend this to other people in the community to get on board.

Xcel will definitely be heading back. If you too wish to become involved, please click here.
